The American Association of University Women (AAUW) is a national organization that advances equity for women and girls through advocacy, education, philanthropy and research. The AAUW South Lake Tahoe Branch is one of 152 branches in California that seeks to unite the graduates of educational institutions with like-minded beliefs. Locally, AAUW awards scholarships to women transferring from Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC) to a four year college or university as well as Tech Trek scholarships for seventh-grade girls to participate in Tech Trek, a science, math and computer summer camp at the University of California at Davis. Approximately 60 active members regularly participate in a variety of activities and special interest groups in the South Lake Tahoe Branch alone. Guests are welcome.
