Cybersecurity for small and mid-sized businesses is the focus for this year’s University of Nevada, Reno, Cybersecurity Conference, from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. Nov. 12 in the Joe Crowley Student Union on the University campus. Speakers at this free event include Daniel Eliot of the U.S. Department of Commerce’s National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), who will give the talk “Creating Small Business On-Ramps to NIST Cybersecurity Guidance.” Aaron Rose of Check Point Software Technologies will discuss the use of AI to shore up cybersecurity defenses. Conference sessions include an exploration of open-source cybersecurity tools for businesses and a discussion on the cybersecurity landscape for small businesses.
