Making a great pitch is hard enough. Doing it in just a few minutes is even harder! But that's your task in business today, because nobody has more time, and no one wants it more complex. This workshop will explore how to plan, prepare, and tailor your pitch to find new investors, land new customers, or find a partner--in short, to turn your idea into a reality. Workshop facilitator, Matt Westfield has been a serial entrepreneur since he was a kid. He has founded businesses in many sectors, including software, horticulture, and graphics, along with 3 non-profits. He’s consulted for over 20 years on business plan & marketing strategies, primarily for growth businesses. He was a Charter Judge in the Governor’s Cup business plan competition from 2003 until 2011, when he decided to mentor business plan competitors. He currently owns/runs 3 unrelated companies and teaches Entrepreneurship at the University of Nevada Reno. Recent honors include: 2013 Top 10 Community Leaders of Reno/Tahoe, 2014 Governor’s Cup Mentor of the Year, 2014 SBA Entrepreneurial Spirit Award 2014.
