This two-tiered snow camping course is designed for new or seasoned winter backcountry enthusiasts eager to learn how to upgrade their wilderness experience by learning the skills needed to successfully snow camp. The classroom portion (Part 1) of this training is two weeks prior to the field portion (Part 2) to allow additional preparatory time and will focus on snow camping theory and fundamentals including: Planning for Weather, Clothing, Gear, Cooking, Survival Rule of 3s, Travel, Navigation, Frostbite and Hypothermia, Sleeping, Shelter and Campsite Orientation, and Leave No Trace Principals in Winter.
